The control of the execution of works on National Road No. 1 in Mbuji-Mayi by the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) began on Monday October 9, 2023. A team led by inspector Mujinga Mpenga was dispatched to this town of Kasai Oriental to ensure the good progress of the works financed by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The objective of this control mission is to evaluate the progress of work on the RN1 as well as on other ongoing projects in the region. This initiative follows the concern expressed by the Governor of the province regarding the lack of funding for works of community interest in the province.
During a meeting with Inspector Mujinga Mpenga, Madam Governor raised the issue of financing the Industry Promotion Fund (FPI), which is essential for the realization of projects such as the construction of the RN1, schools and hospitals. Following this discussion, the head of the IGF department, Jules Alingete, assured the provincial authority that the necessary funds would be released and that a control mission would be sent to the site.
This control mission of the IGF is of major importance to guarantee transparency and efficiency in the use of public funds. It will make it possible to verify whether the work is actually carried out in accordance with the planned financial operations. The results of this mission will be essential to take the necessary measures to ensure the proper execution of ongoing projects and optimize available resources.
It is essential to underline the importance of the IGF in the control of public expenditure and the fight against corruption. This institution plays a crucial role in financial transparency and helps ensure that state resources are used efficiently and for the benefit of the population.
In conclusion, the IGF control mission to Mbuji-Mayi as part of the work on the RN1 demonstrates the commitment of the Congolese government to ensure adequate use of public funds and to guarantee the completion of essential infrastructure projects for the development of the region. This is an important step towards more transparent and efficient management of national resources.
