Candidates for the 5th edition of the Excellentia scholarship recently took their selection test at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa. This current event was marked by the presence of the first lady of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who came to visit and encourage the candidates.
This selection test brought together 234 students out of the 254 eligible from the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, coming from different cities in the DRC. Candidates had to answer 100 questions and achieve a minimum success rate of 70% to be eligible for the Excellentia scholarship. This scholarship offers full support for university studies for five years, whether abroad or in the DRC.
It is important to emphasize that only finalists who obtained a minimum of 85% in the Exetat, the secondary school leaving exam in the DRC, were selected to participate in this Excellentia scholarship test. This rigorous selection ensures that only the best students can benefit from this exceptional opportunity.
The Excellentia Program currently has 241 scholarship holders, of which 82 are enrolled in foreign universities and 159 are continuing their studies in the DRC. This initiative aims to encourage academic excellence and provide Congolese students with the best educational opportunities to enable them to become key players in the country’s development.
The visit of the first lady during the selection test demonstrates the importance given to the education and training of young people in the DRC. By encouraging candidates, it encourages them to give the best of themselves and take this opportunity to be part of the Excellentia scholarship holders.
The Excellentia Program plays a crucial role in training a new generation of Congolese leaders, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to excel in their studies and contribute to the development of their country. Thanks to this scholarship, many talented students will have the opportunity to pursue quality higher education and become key players in their field of expertise.
In conclusion, the selection test for the Excellentia scholarship helped to highlight the best students in the DRC, thus offering higher education opportunities to those who stood out. This shows the commitment of the Congolese government and partners in the field of education, and the importance given to academic excellence for the development of the country.
