The “Tribe of Nova” music festival is a highly anticipated event for trance enthusiasts in Israel. Unfortunately, this edition of the festival was marked by a terrorist attack perpetrated by the Hamas group. Festival-goers were faced with a dramatic situation, with attackers opening fire on the crowd, causing numerous victims.

Among the survivors, Tal Anavim, a 23-year-old Israeli woman, testified about her experience during this attack. She says she was woken up by rocket fire coming from the Gaza Strip, near the festival. Initially, festival-goers did not take the situation seriously, accustomed to tensions between Israel and Gaza. But quickly, shots coming from the Be’eri kibbutz, a few kilometers from the festival, caused panic among the crowd.

Tal Anavim and other festival-goers had to run to escape the attackers who were pursuing them. Videos filmed at the scene show the chaotic scene, with people desperately trying to find shelter. Some were shot, while others managed to escape and hide until help arrived.

Emergency services were quickly deployed to the scene to assist the victims. Unfortunately, the attack caused many casualties, with at least 260 bodies recovered from the scene. Relatives of missing festival-goers have shared photos in the hope of finding them. The sadness and shock are palpable among the survivors, who also have to deal with the loss of their friends and fellow partygoers.

In the meantime, this tragedy reminds everyone that the terrorist threat remains present despite the efforts made to combat it.

The Tribe of Nova festival was supposed to be a time of joy and celebration, but it turned into a nightmare for the participants. Let us hope that such attacks will not be repeated in the future and that cultural and musical gatherings can continue to bring happiness to all.
