Training workshop for electoral witnesses to support the re-election of President Félix Tshisekedi
From October 4 to 5, a training workshop for electoral witnesses took place at the CEPAS center in Kinshasa, organized by the Political and Social Forces Allied to the UDPS/Tshisekedi (FPAU). The objective of this workshop was to put in place a system that will help President Félix Tshisekedi renew his mandate as supreme magistrate during the next elections.
For two days, participants in this training session were trained on vote monitoring techniques at polling station level in favor of President Tshisekedi and national and provincial deputies supported by the FPAU. This training aims to prepare for elections at all levels and to deploy witnesses in each province to ensure the smooth running of the polls.
Elysé Bokumwana Maposo, Deputy Minister of the Budget and general coordinator of the FPAU, underlined the importance of this political activity in the context of the designation of the single candidate during the conclave organized by the FPAU. He also emphasized the professional approach adopted for electoral observation, inviting specialist experts in the electoral field to train members of the FPAU who, in turn, will be responsible for training other witnesses across the country.
This training workshop for electoral witnesses took place in the presence of ministers, national deputies, senators, presidents of political parties and other political figures who are members of the FPAU.
It is clear that the FPAU is doing everything possible to guarantee a transparent and democratic electoral process with a view to supporting the re-election of President Tshisekedi. This training of electoral witnesses is a step forward in the professionalization of electoral observation and in the desire to ensure the legitimacy of the election. The presence of high-level political representatives also shows the strong commitment to the success of this electoral campaign.
As the election date approaches, it will be interesting to follow the actions and results of these FPAU-trained election witnesses. Their role will be crucial in monitoring votes, preventing electoral fraud and ensuring a fair and transparent democratic process. The training and deployment of competent election witnesses are key elements in promoting election integrity and building citizen confidence in the democratic process.
The Democratic Republic of Congo is going through a crucial political period, and holding free and fair elections is essential to consolidate democracy and ensure the stability of the country. All political actors must therefore play their role in upholding democratic standards and ensuring transparent elections for the well-being of the country and its citizens.
