“Wazalendo vs M23-RDF: violent clashes and heroic resistance in Kitchanga”

Clashes between young patriotic resistance fighters from the “Wazalendo” self-defense group and M23-RDF terrorists recently raged in the Kitchanga region, in Masisi territory. These events demonstrate the tense and unstable situation that reigns in this strategic area.

From the morning, members of the “Wazalendo” self-defense group set up on Mubugu hill, which overlooks the city of Kitchanga. Opposite the Catholic parish, they faced the M23 belligerents supported by the Rwandan army (RDF). The clashes were violent, and the “Wazalendo” managed to repel and chase the terrorists towards the neighboring towns of Kibarizo, Kirumbu and Busumba.

However, the M23 terrorists did not give in and took refuge in Kahe, located about 4 kilometers from Kitchanga. They were cornered in the hills of Bwiza, according to sources on site. Despite their withdrawal from the city, the patriotic resistance fighters of the self-defense group “Wazalendo” chose to settle on the strategic hills overlooking Kitchanga, in order to prepare for any eventuality.

These clashes aroused concern among local civilian populations, but also admiration for the courageous resistance of the “Wazalendo”. While security remains fragile in the region, these young patriotic resistance fighters are determined to protect their community and fight terrorist forces that threaten the peace.

These events highlight the urgency of finding lasting solutions to restore security and stability in the Kitchanga region. The Congolese authorities, in collaboration with the international community, must redouble their efforts to put an end to this violence and allow local populations to live in peace.

In conclusion, the clashes between the patriotic resistance fighters of the self-defense group “Wazalendo” and the terrorists of the M23-RDF in Kitchanga demonstrate the precarious situation in which this region finds itself. It is imperative to find suitable solutions to restore peace and security, in order to protect civilian populations and enable the development of the region.
