The new article to publish on the blog:

“How to succeed in your EXCELLENTIA scholarship program and fight against sickle cell disease?”

The Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI Foundation continues to promote academic excellence and raise awareness of the importance of the fight against sickle cell disease. During a recent event organized at the Pullman Hotel Lubumbashi, the President of the Foundation brought together around 180 students from 20 schools in Haut Katanga to present the EXCELLENTIA program to them.

The objective of the lunch was to raise awareness among students of this program which rewards academic excellence by granting scholarships to winners of the state exam who obtained a minimum of 85%. The President stressed that these scholarships offer students the opportunity to continue their university studies, whether in local establishments or abroad.

However, this was not the Foundation’s only concern. As part of her commitment to health, particularly the fight against sickle cell disease, the President also hosted an information session on this genetic disease. She emphasized the importance of screening and encouraged students to get tested, emphasizing that sickle cell disease has devastating consequences on families and society in general.

The event also brought together former EXCELLENTIA scholarship recipients, who served as concrete examples of success and inspiration for future winners.

The EXCELLENTIA program, which is in its 4th edition, aims to award 1000 local scholarships and 100 international scholarships over a period of 10 years. To date, 241 scholars have been selected, with 82 continuing their studies abroad and 159 studying locally.

In addition to supporting academic excellence, the Denise NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI Foundation plays an essential role in raising awareness of sickle cell disease and promoting screening.
