“Draw between FC Saint Eloi Lupopo and TP Mazembe: a match played without goals”

FC Saint Eloi Lupopo and TP Mazembe faced each other during the 5th day of the national football championship, Ligue 1. Despite a contested meeting, no goal was scored and the two teams had to settle for a match draw (0-0).

From the start of the match, the Lupopo Railway Workers exerted strong pressure on their opponents. Patou Kabangu Mulota and his teammates increased their incursions into the TP Mazembe penalty area, but without managing to find the back of the net. For FC Saint Eloi Lupopo, already eliminated from CAF interclub competitions, the national championship remains the only objective in trying to relaunch next season in Africa. As for TP Mazembe, they are qualified for the group stage and already know their future opponents. The Kamalondo club is also involved in the African Football League (AFL), thus adding an additional challenge to its season.

This relocated Lubumbashi derby showed the intensity and rivalry between these two renowned teams in Congolese football. Despite the absence of goals, the supporters were able to witness a contested match full of opportunities. The next matches of these two clubs promise new exciting encounters, with the common goal of winning the national championship.
