Akili 2 primary school: a step towards quality education in the DRC

The President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, recently inaugurated the Akili 2 primary school in Kasenga, in the Haut Katanga province. This school was built as part of the Development Program for 145 Territories (PDL-145 T), launched by the Head of State in 2021 with the aim of fighting poverty and social inequalities.

During his speech to the students of the establishment, President Tshisekedi welcomed the construction of this school, emphasizing the importance of providing Congolese children with optimal study conditions. He also recalled that every child in the country has the right to benefit from the wealth of the Republic.

This inauguration marks a first significant step in the realization of the Development Program for 145 territories. Indeed, the Akili 2 school is the first school to be built as part of this program in Haut Katanga. The forecasts for the first phase of the program foresee the construction of 1,198 educational establishments across the country, supervised by different entities such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) or the Central Coordination Office (BCeCo).

This initiative aims to provide young Congolese with quality education opportunities and reduce social inequalities. By allowing children to study in suitable conditions, the 145 Territories Development Program contributes to the emergence of a new generation of trained and competent Congolese citizens, ready to take on the challenges of the country’s development.

President Tshisekedi expressed his determination to ensure that all young people in Congo can benefit from the wealth of their country and study in good conditions. He underlined the importance of education for the future of the country and pledged to make all necessary efforts to guarantee this opportunity to every Congolese child.

The inauguration of the Akili 2 school therefore marks an important step in achieving the objectives of the Development Program for 145 territories. It demonstrates President Tshisekedi’s commitment to quality education and equal opportunities for all young Congolese. This is a positive signal for the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which can count on motivated and educated youth to build a prosperous and equitable country.
