Félix Tshisekedi nominated as President of the Republic for the 2023 presidential election
The political landscape of the Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing a major turning point with the inauguration of Félix Tshisekedi as candidate president of the Republic for the election scheduled for December 20, 2023. This announcement was made during the first Congress of his platform , the Sacred Union of the Nation, which was held on October 1 in Kinshasa.
Christophe Mboso, member of the Presidium of the coalition, spoke at this event to urge the Congolese population to massively support the candidacy of Félix Tshisekedi. Many political parties and groupings that are members of the Sacred Union have already officially expressed their support for the candidacy of Félix Tshisekedi, including the UDPS, the MLC and the UNC.
However, the opposition is not left out, with figures such as Martin Fayulu and Moïse Katumbi also announcing their candidacy for the presidential election. Furthermore, the decision of Nobel Prize winner Denis Mukwege regarding his possible candidacy still remains pending.
