Title: “A look at the news: The major issues of the week”

Introduction :
Every week, the program “Regards sur l’Actualité” deciphers the major events that have marked the country. In this program, we will address three topics that have attracted attention: the early electoral campaign in the DRC, the battery and electric vehicle manufacturing project, as well as the difficult situation of displaced people in the country. To do this, we invited experts from different fields to share their point of view and analyses.

1st subject: The early electoral campaign in the DRC: a warning from CSAC
The Superior Council of Audiovisual and Communication (CSAC) recently warned the media which engage in an early electoral campaign in the DRC. This practice, which consists of promoting or criticizing candidates before the official campaign period, is contrary to electoral law. We will discuss with John Ngombwa, journalist and News Director of Antenne A, the implications of this warning for the media and for the electoral process as a whole.

2nd subject: The battery and electric vehicle manufacturing project: towards a technological revolution
An ambitious project to manufacture batteries and electric vehicles has been announced, requiring an investment of $30 billion. This project aims to develop a green industrial sector and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. We will analyze the opportunities and challenges of this initiative with our guest Me Nelly Mbangu Lumbulumbu, member of civil society in North Kivu and president of the Dynamic Association of Women Lawyers (Dfj).

3rd subject: The difficult situation of displaced people in the DRC: an urgent humanitarian issue
The situation of displaced people in the DRC is worrying, with thousands of people having fled their homes due to conflict and violence. Me Nelly Mbangu Lumbulumbu, coordinator of the SAUTI YA MAMA MUKONGOMANI network of women’s organizations, will enlighten us on the challenges facing these displaced people and the measures taken to help them.

Conclusion :
In this edition of “Regards sur l’Actualité”, we have addressed important subjects which reflect the challenges facing the DRC. Whether it is the early electoral campaign, the battery and electric vehicle manufacturing project, or the situation of the displaced, it is essential to stay informed and seek solutions adapted to these problems.
