The revenues mobilized by the government of the DRC in 2022 exceed all expectations, reaching more than 18,000 billion Congolese Francs!

Revenues mobilized in own resources by the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) during the 2022 financial year reached an impressive figure of 18,432.84 billion Congolese Francs, equivalent to more than 9 billion dollars. These data come from the bill reporting on the general budget of the Congolese government for the 2022 financial year, presented to the National Assembly by the Minister of Finance, Nicolas Kazadi.

According to Nicolas Kazadi’s statements to national deputies, this amount represents an achievement of 116.93% compared to the initial forecast of 20,408.33 billion Congolese Francs. In other words, the revenues mobilized exceeded the expectations set by the government.

It should be noted that these revenues mobilized in 2022 also include external revenues, which were estimated at 5,430.36 billion Congolese francs.

These figures reflect a significant performance of the Congolese government in terms of mobilizing its own resources, which is essential to ensure the financing of public services and the development of the country. This also demonstrates that the DRC has significant potential resources that can contribute to its economic growth.

The fiscal year 2022 accountability bill was declared “receivable” after a debate and was sent to the Economic, Financial and Budgetary Control Committee for further review. However, due to the short parliamentary session, this review will need to be completed quickly.

This data on revenues mobilized in the DRC in 2022 highlights the importance of financial management and transparency in the country. They also underline the need to continue to promote an environment favorable to investment and economic development in order to maximize own resources and stimulate long-term growth.

The mobilization of these revenues into own resources is a positive indicator for the DRC, which seeks to consolidate its public finances and achieve sustainable economic progress. It now remains to effectively use these resources to meet the needs of Congolese citizens and to promote the country’s development in all key sectors.

In conclusion, the revenues mobilized by the Government of the DRC in 2022 demonstrate encouraging performance and reflect the economic potential of the country. However, it is essential to ensure transparent and effective management of these resources to guarantee the achievement of development objectives and the well-being of the Congolese population.
