The 25th Techno Parade in Paris: an electric explosion celebrating electronic music

The electronic music industry continues to gain popularity and the Techno Parade is living proof. On Saturday afternoon, tens of thousands of electro fans gathered in Paris to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic event. In an electric atmosphere, the Place de la Bastille was transformed into a real open-air dancefloor, where techno rhythms resonated.

This year, the Techno Parade brought together 16 floats, each equipped with its own sound system, which paraded through the streets of Paris before reaching the Place de la Nation. In 2018, more than 250,000 people participated in this event, making the Techno Parade the essential showcase for electronic music since its creation in 1998.

Among the artists present during this anniversary edition, the Heretik System collective thrilled the crowd, as did Maud Geffray, awarded for the best original soundtrack at the Séries Mania festival, and RAG, DJ and artistic director of the queer and feminist collective Barbi ( e)turix.

It is interesting to remember that at its beginnings in 1998, the Techno Parade attracted 200,000 people, at a time when electronic music was poorly perceived and even demonized. It is notably thanks to personalities like Jack Lang, who was inspired by the Love Parade in Berlin, that techno finally found its place in society.

Today, the Techno Parade is a joyful and peaceful event, which proves that electronic culture is more anchored in our society than ever. Tommy Vaudecrane, president of Technopol, the association which organizes the event, emphasizes that the time of doubts and fears around electronic music is over. He also wants free parties and teknivals to be more accepted and recognized.

In conclusion, the 25th Techno Parade in Paris was a real success, testifying to the growing importance of electronic music in our lives. This iconic event brings together techno fans, celebrates musical diversity and lets the voices of those who defend this culture be heard. The Techno Parade continues to establish itself as an unmissable event in Paris, highlighting the creativity and unity of the electro scene.
