Efforts to guarantee adequate medical care for Congolese police officers continue. The provincial commissioner of the Congolese National Police (PNC) of Tshopo, sub-divisional commissioner François Kabeya Makosa, recently affirmed his commitment to improving health care for his subordinates and their families.
During a parade held at the central camp of Kisangani, Commissioner Kabeya Makosa made police officers aware of the importance of mutual health insurance, as well as the need for their contributions for its proper functioning. He explained that this initiative aims to reduce deaths and medical complications resulting from the lack of adequate medical care.
Aware of the challenges facing the hospital which serves the Tshopo police, the commissioner asked his troops to get involved in the supply of pharmaceutical products to the establishment. He stressed that the contribution to mutual health insurance is voluntary, but he appealed to the will and understanding of all to ensure solidarity within the police.
Alongside this approach in favor of better medical care, the sub-divisional commissioner also called the undisciplined police officers to order. He insisted that a police officer should not act outside his official assignment and warned against vagrancy. He also stressed the importance for the police to respond to all alerts and called on the population to inform the authorities in the event of suspicious acts in the neighborhoods.
This new initiative by Commissioner Kabeya Makosa demonstrates the desire to guarantee better health for Congolese police officers. By encouraging solidarity within the police and recalling the rules of discipline, he seeks to strengthen the efficiency and image of the Tshopo PNC. We hope that this approach will improve the quality of life of police officers and their families, while strengthening trust between the population and the police.
