“Youth policy in Tunisia: Efforts to involve young people in political decision-making and overcome persistent challenges”

The current affairs article that I am going to present to you today focuses on the evolution of youth policy in Tunisia. As a country in transition, Tunisia attaches great importance to the involvement of young people in society and their active participation in political decision-making.

In recent years, the Tunisian government has implemented several measures aimed at promoting youth participation. Training programs have been put in place to strengthen the leadership and decision-making skills of young people. Mentoring initiatives have also been launched to allow young people to benefit from the expertise and experience of political and social leaders.

The main objective of these efforts is to give young people the tools necessary to become actors of change and social transformation. Tunisia recognizes that youth are a driving force for the country’s development and that it is essential to actively involve them in making decisions that affect their lives.

In addition, the Tunisian government has also established citizen participation platforms to allow young people to express themselves and make their voices heard. Consultations were held to gather ideas and suggestions from young people on key issues such as employment, education, health and the environment.

However, despite these laudable efforts, challenges still remain. High unemployment rates among young people remain a major problem in Tunisia, highlighting the importance of paying particular attention to job creation and promoting youth entrepreneurship.

In conclusion, youth policy in Tunisia is moving in the right direction, with efforts to promote youth participation and give them the means to actively contribute to the country’s development. However, much remains to be done to address persistent challenges, particularly regarding youth employment. Tunisia, however, has shown its commitment to its youth and continues to work for a better and more inclusive future for all its citizens.
