The former Congolese Prime Minister, Augustin Matata Ponyo, recently submitted his candidacy for the presidential election scheduled for December 2023. It is with confidence and determination that he presents himself before the Office of reception and processing of candidacies of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).
In a statement, Augustin Matata Ponyo stressed that his candidacy is the fruit of the will of the Congolese people as well as of his political party, Leadership Gouvernance et Développement (LGD). Indeed, Congolese justice is pursuing him for his alleged involvement in the embezzlement of more than 200 million dollars during the construction of the Bukanga Lonzo agro-industrial park, in collaboration with other personalities.
