The Board of Directors of the Régie des Voies Aériens (RVA) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a key player in the regulation of the Congolese aviation sector. Made up of new members recently appointed by the President of the Republic, this Council plays a central role in the management and development of the country’s airport infrastructure.
The handover ceremony between the outgoing and incoming team took place recently, marking the start of a new chapter for the RVA. The Managing Director, Alphonse Shungu Mahungu, has been reappointed, while Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba replaces Bienvenu Liyota Ndjoli as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
During his mandate, Bienvenu Liyota expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic for the trust he placed in him during these three years spent at the head of the Board of Directors of the RVA. He also thanked all RVA staff for their collaboration and support in the stabilization and recovery of the company. Under their leadership, RVA undertook infrastructure modernization projects in several Congolese cities, allowing the company to operate more efficiently.
Although challenges remain, the outgoing PCA highlighted the achievements made by the team in place, in particular the maintenance of the operational capacities of the RVA despite the difficulties encountered. He also highlighted social peace within the company, despite a difficult macro-economic environment. He concluded his speech by wishing every success and good luck to the new management team.
As for Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba, new Chairman of the Board of Directors, he spoke during the handover ceremony to express his commitment to defending the interests of the RVA and its staff. He underlined the importance of working in the interest of the company and committed to supporting the General Director in his mission. He also stressed the importance of maintaining good relationships within the management team and ensuring that the transition takes place with dignity.
In conclusion, the new RVA Board of Directors plays a crucial role in the management and development of the aviation sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With ongoing modernization projects and a determined leadership team, the RVA continues to work to ensure safe and efficient flight operations in the country.
