Shocking photos exhibited in Goma to pay tribute to victims of the war in North Kivu
Poignant photos were displayed at the BDGL roundabout in Goma, North Kivu province, to commemorate the National Day of Tributes to the Victims of the Genocide of Economic Gains (GENOCOST). These exhibitions are organized with the aim of raising public awareness about the horrors of war and atrocities committed in the region.
The ceremony paying tribute to the victims took place in the presence of the military governor of North Kivu, Constant Ndima, as well as survivors of the conflicts which have raged in the region since August 2, 1998. Among them, Liberata Buratwa, who recalled the importance of justice for victims and the need to compensate them. She also insisted on the importance of supporting the families of the victims and ensuring that peace returns to the region.
