The earthquake that recently struck Morocco caused extensive damage and caused an emergency situation in several villages. Among the most affected areas is Tafeghaghte, a small village located 4 kilometers south of Amizmiz.
Hamid Hammouche, restaurateur in Marrakech and active member of different associations, quickly mobilized to help the victims of Tafeghaghte. With his team of 61 employees, including 30 residing in this village, he closed his restaurant and went there to coordinate relief efforts.
The situation is dramatic in the village with 80 deaths and 160 injuries recorded among the 300 affected families. But despite this tragedy, Hamid Hammouche underlines the extraordinary solidarity that has been put in place. No inhabitant suffers from hunger, thirst or cold, thanks to the influx of supplies from all sides.
The Moroccan population, according to Hamid Hammouche, has shown limitless generosity. Vehicles traveled hundreds of kilometers bringing blankets, sugar, diapers for babies, and many other supplies. This outpouring of solidarity testifies to the immense heart of the Moroccan people and strengthens confidence in the future.
Despite the extent of the damage, Hamid Hammouche is determined to rebuild and prepare the victims for the arrival of winter. Tents were set up to shelter all the residents. The priority now is to implement reconstruction plans and ensure a better future for these villages affected by the earthquake.
In this spirit, Hamid Hammouche appeals for help. He invites people wishing to support Morocco to go there and make their contribution. The victims need labor, financial and material resources to rebuild. It is by joining forces that we can emerge stronger from this ordeal.
In conclusion, the earthquake in Morocco revealed the incredible generosity of the Moroccan people and the importance of solidarity in difficult times. Reconstruction will take time, effort and resources, but with everyone’s help, Morocco will recover stronger than ever.
