Introduction :
The Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing to equip its highest judicial body, the Constitutional Court, with a new building. Funded by the Congolese government with financial support from UNDP, the construction work will extend over a period of 10 months. This initiative demonstrates the desire of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi tshilombo to provide the Constitutional Court with the necessary workspaces to effectively exercise its role as constitutional judge. Inspired by the Nyragongo volcano, the pyramidal architecture of the new headquarters symbolizes the importance of the decisions taken by the Constitutional Court.

Workspaces adapted to constitutional issues:
Located in the Royal district of the commune of Gombe, the new headquarters of the Constitutional Court promises to offer modern and functional work spaces. A large courtroom, offices and other work spaces will be distributed over the 4 floors of this emblematic building. This infrastructure aims to meet the specific needs of the Constitutional Court and to create an environment conducive to the exercise of its power as a constitutional judge.

The president’s commitment and the support of the Constitutional Court:
The laying of the first stone of the new building of the Constitutional Court was an opportunity for the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi tshilombo, to reaffirm his support for this key institution of the Congolese judicial system. The president stressed the importance of providing the Constitutional Court with adequate working spaces to guarantee its independence and efficiency. For his part, the President of the Constitutional Court, Dieudonné Kamuleta, expressed his gratitude to the president for this initiative and underlined the importance of the decisions taken by the Court, which are irrevocable.

The Constitutional Court plays a vital role in consolidating the rule of law in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
