Work to modernize the city of Miabi, located in the territory of the same name approximately 45 km from Mbuji-Mayi in the province of Kasaï-Oriental, began recently. This ongoing transformation offers many improvements to the local population.
One of the first steps in this modernization was the installation of more than 500 solar street lights on the city’s main arteries. This now makes it possible to ensure optimal public lighting, thus improving the safety and comfort of residents.
But that’s not all. The work also focused on the city’s main road, called Kalonji Ditunga. For the first time in its history, this road is being paved by the SAFRIMEX company. This news gives new impetus to the city of Miabi and its inhabitants.
The local population is delighted with these improvements. For Henri Mbuyi, resident of Miabi, this is a first: “This is the first time I have seen this in Miabi. We are delighted to see this work which is transforming our city.”
Mélanie Mujinga, another resident of Miabi, enjoys this new asphalt road every day: “I am so happy to be able to walk on an asphalt surface without getting tired. Before, we were constantly covered in dust after a walk. Now it is is clean and bright, even at night.”
This modernization of the road also has a positive impact on the plots located along the main road. The owners of this land see their investment increase in value, which contributes to the economic development of the region.
According to Jean Mabi, Director General of the Central Coordination Office (BCECO), this work is carried out thanks to an agreement with the province of Kasaï-Oriental. The asphalting of the road began recently and demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to improve the infrastructure of the city of Miabi.
This modernization initiative contributes to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Miabi and reflects a desire for sustainable development. These actions also promote the economic dynamism of the region by making the city of Miabi more attractive to investors and businesses.
The transformation underway in Miabi demonstrates the development potential of provincial towns in the DRC. By investing in infrastructure, local authorities contribute to improving the daily lives of populations while promoting the economic and social development of their region.
