New general management team of Cobil received at the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF)

A new crucial stage has taken place for Cobil, a strategic company in the oil sector of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The new general management team of Cobil, led by Thierry Monsenepwo, chairman of the Board of Directors, was received at the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) by Jules Alingete, the general inspector-head of department, accompanied by his deputy Victor Batubenga.

This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the continuity of the IGF’s management mission within Cobil. The Chairman of the Board of Directors expressed his gratitude for the fruitful work accomplished by the IGF in supervising public finances and requested its support to enable the company to take off again thanks to its financial policy.

Since June 2023, Cobil has benefited from the support of the IGF and has been able to observe an improvement in its financial balances. The inspectors provided their expertise and verified the legality, compliance and appropriateness of the company’s spending allocations.

The inspector general-head of service, Jules Alingete, welcomed the dynamism of the new Cobil management team and highlighted the renewal of this team by the President of the Republic Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

This visit to the IGF demonstrates Cobil’s desire to walk in accordance with the vision of the Head of State, by promoting good governance and completely turning around the company.

The Director General, Placide Mutubunga, also highlighted the efficiency of the work of the IGF inspectors and confirmed the satisfactory results obtained thanks to their financial supervision.

Since the arrival of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, efforts have been made at government level to support the recovery of Cobil, with the support of the IGF.

This meeting marks an important step in Cobil’s recovery process and demonstrates the company’s determination to follow the path of good management and transparency, in accordance with the objectives set by the Congolese authorities.
