The power of the public: supporting the Leopards of the DRC
In an interview given before the DRC-Sudan match, counting for the qualifiers for CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2023, national coach Sébastien Desabre launched an appeal to the Congolese public. He invited supporters to go en masse to the Martyrs stadium to support the Leopards of the DRC.
According to Desabre, public support is essential for the team. He pointed out that when playing at home, Leopards win not only with the 11 players on the pitch, but also with the support of their home crowd. The coach also declared that the Congolese public was exceptional and that he was looking forward to finding this unique atmosphere in Kinshasa.
Desabre encouraged his players to give their best in this crucial match. He is convinced that if they put rigor and seriousness into their game, they can achieve victory. However, he acknowledges that it will not be an easy task, as there is never an easy match in Africa.
The team’s preparation went smoothly and the players are more motivated than ever to face Sudan. The Sudanese national team delegation arrived in Kinshasa the day before the match, ready to do battle.
This match is of crucial importance in the CAN 2023 qualifiers and the DRC Leopards need the support of their public to help them achieve their goal. The players are eager to return to the electric atmosphere of the Martyrs stadium and to give the best of themselves to proudly represent their country.
The Congolese public has always been passionate and fervent when it comes to supporting their national team. Now is the opportunity for supporters to respond to the coach’s call and be present at the stadium to encourage the Leopards of the DRC. Together they can create a magical atmosphere and give the team an extra advantage on the pitch.
It is time to show that the Congolese public is a major asset for the national team. So, everyone at the Martyrs Stadium to support the Leopards and encourage them to victory! Their success also depends on us, passionate and dedicated supporters.
