Indeed, during its first convention which was held from September 5 to 7 in Kinshasa, the PSDV announced its support for the candidacy of Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi in the presidential election of December 2023.

The president of the PSDV, Léonard She Okitundu, declared: “Recognizing the ideological convergence between our party and the President of the Republic, a supporter of social democracy, we took, at the end of these meetings, two major resolutions: to continue our participation in the electoral process until its end, and make the Head of State the party’s candidate in the next presidential election.
This decision is all the more interesting since Léonard She Okitundu, as a member of the former Presidential Majority (MP) and former close collaborator of ex-President Joseph Kabila, has political experience and in-depth knowledge of the issues national and international.
