The DRC, an example of electoral organization to follow
In a constantly changing world, the way in which elections are organized is of paramount importance to ensure the transparency and legitimacy of the polls. This is why French parliamentarians, members of the French section of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), took a close interest in the organization of the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
During a visit to the DRC, a delegation of French parliamentarians met with the President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Denis KADIMA KAZADI, to learn more about the organization of elections in the country. They were particularly intrigued by the fact that the DRC is simultaneously organizing three or four polls at the same time, a practice that has never been done in France.
Bruno FUCHS, deputy of Haut-Rhin and delegate general of the APF, underlined the importance of understanding and drawing inspiration from the electoral practices of other countries to improve the French electoral system. He added that if necessary, he and his colleagues would be ready to return as election observers for the next elections in the DRC.
This approach by French parliamentarians demonstrates their desire to be open to new ideas and to learn from the successful experiences of other countries. Taking the example of the DRC, France could possibly integrate the practice of organizing several elections simultaneously to optimize the electoral process.
Observation of elections in other countries is a valuable opportunity to understand different methods and best practices in electoral organization. This feeds the democratic debate and strengthens the confidence of voters in the electoral process.
The DRC, as a developing country but endowed with significant experience in the organization of elections, could play a role of model for other nations. His commitment to transparency and democratic participation allows him to inspire other countries to improve their own electoral practices.
In conclusion, the example of the DRC reminds us of the importance of remaining open to good practices and learning from the experiences of other countries. French parliamentarians have shown their desire to improve the French electoral system by drawing inspiration from the practices of the DRC. This approach reflects a desire to strengthen democracy and transparency in the electoral process, for the greater benefit of citizens.
