Reinforced control of vehicles transporting petroleum products: Didier Budimbu puts an end to the use of cans and drums

In a recent note from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, it was announced that Minister Didier Budimbu has undertaken a series of field visits to monitor the application of measures prohibiting the transport and storage of petroleum products in cans or drums. This decision follows numerous failures that have led to fires in the past.

During his visit to the field, the Minister became aware of the existence of pirate parking lots where vehicles illegally store petroleum products in dangerous conditions. In Mitendi and Mont-Ngafula, Budimbu surprised some recalcitrants in flagrante delicto. He then extended his patrol to the Kasangulu toll, where he found several violations of the ban on the transport and storage of petroleum products.

Annoyed by these dangerous practices, the Minister refused the circulation of these vehicles and expressed his disagreement with the taking of reckless risks on the part of traders. He pointed out the potential dangers of fires not only to themselves, but also to others exposed to those risks.

Didier Budimbu’s determination to enforce these essential measures to clean up the hydrocarbon sector is underlined by those close to him. It will show no flexibility in the application of these crucial rules.

This action by the Minister of Hydrocarbons testifies to his desire to put an end to the dangerous practices of transporting and storing petroleum products in non-compliant conditions. By ensuring strict compliance with these measures, Didier Budimbu contributes to safety and environmental protection, while preserving the health and safety of citizens
