“Felix Tshisekedi denounces the inaction of auditors in the persistence of management anomalies in public companies”

Félix Tshisekedi highlights the inaction of auditors in the persistence of bad practices and management anomalies within state portfolio companies. In a communication during a meeting of the Council of Ministers, the President of the Congolese Republic underlined the importance of good governance and the responsibility of public officials in achieving social objectives, respecting obligations towards workers and profitability of assets.

According to government spokesperson Patrick Muyaya, bad practices and management anomalies were detected by the General Inspectorate of Finance and other control structures, but their persistence is due to the inaction of the auditors. . However, the latter received a general interest legal audit mandate to certify the annual accounts and verify the sincerity of the financial data.

In order to improve management performance and avoid maintaining these failures, Félix Tshisekedi asked the Minister of Portfolio to supervise the work of the auditors. He also instructed the Minister of Finance to support the National Order of Chartered Accountants in order to improve the service conditions of its members and promote good governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This position taken by President Tshisekedi shows his commitment to transparency and the fight against corruption. By highlighting the importance of the role of auditors in the good financial management of public companies, he wishes to guarantee efficient use of state resources and promote the economic development of the country.

However, it remains to be seen how these measures will be implemented and what their real effect will be on combating corruption and improving management in state portfolio companies. It is essential to put in place control mechanisms and close collaboration between the different stakeholders to ensure compliance with good governance standards and the accountability of managers
