The DRC is preparing to become a handball giant in Africa with the organization of the African Cup of Nations in 2024

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), once in the shadows on the sports scene, is on its way to becoming an African sports giant. It is thanks to the new infrastructures that the country has put in place in recent years.

It is in this context that the Congolese Handball Federation recently hosted a delegation from the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) for an inspection visit to the country’s sports facilities. The objective of this visit was to check the reception capacity and the quality of the infrastructures with a view to hosting the 26th edition of the African Cup of Nations handball in 2024.

The DRC has expressed its wish to organize this event after the withdrawal of Cape Verde. This opportunity represents a major turning point for the country which aims to position itself as a major country in the field of handball in Africa.

The organization of the African Cup of Nations in handball would be a major event for the DRC. This would not only promote Congolese handball and support the development of local talent, but also enhance the country’s sports infrastructure.

The new sports facilities in the DRC offer ideal conditions for hosting international competitions. Modern stadiums, adapted grounds and state-of-the-art equipment are available to athletes and spectators.

Holding the African Cup of Nations in handball in the DRC would be a unique opportunity to show the rest of the continent and the world the progress made by the country in the field of sport. It would also strengthen the position of the DRC as a preferred destination for the organization of international sporting events.

In conclusion, the DRC is on the verge of becoming a major player in the field of sport in Africa thanks to its new infrastructures. The organization of the African Handball Cup of Nations in 2024 would be a crucial step in this desire to position itself as a sports giant on the continent
