“Lieutenant-General Christian Tshiwewe on a mission of command and control of units in the province of Tshopo in eastern DRC: an important visit for the security of the region and the morale of the troops”

Within the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), Lieutenant-General Christian Tshiwewe, Chief of the General Staff, has just started a command and control mission for units in the province of Tshopo, in the east of the country. This mission aims to inquire about the general situation in this region, which is part of the third defense zone. Indeed, this geographical area is the largest in the DRC, since it includes the provinces of Tshopo, Bas-Uélé, Haut-Uélé, Ituri, Maniema, North and South Kivu.

The provincial governor, Madeleine Nikomba Sabangu, gave Lieutenant-General Tshiwewe a warm welcome upon his arrival in Kisangani, capital of Tshopo. This mission will then continue with an important meeting within the command staff of the 3rd defense zone, which will more specifically concern the commanders of the Kisangani garrison units and those of the 3rd defense zone.

The rest of the mission includes a visit to the recruit training center at Camp Lukusa in the commune of Lubunga, to comfort those who responded to the call for general mobilization launched by the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. . This visit will be particularly awaited by the recruits, who thus hope for support from their hierarchy and the consideration of their demands.

For Lieutenant-General Christian Tshiwewe, this mission in the province of Tshopo is a continuation of those carried out in the provinces of Ituri and North Kivu. These command and control missions for FARDC units are an opportunity for him to inquire about the problems of each zone, in a still fragile security context in the DRC.

In short, this mission of the Chief of General Staff of the FARDC is of great importance for the security of the region, as well as for the morale of the troops. Recruits, in particular, eagerly await a visit from their hierarchy, which could provide them with moral support and consideration of their needs.
