The deputy chief of staff to the Head of State in charge of social progress, Olivier Mondonge, recently launched the presidential program to modernize the province of Sud-Ubangi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During a meeting with the governor of the province and the actors involved in this project, he kicked off this initiative aimed at improving the infrastructure and development of the region.
This modernization program for the province of Sud-Ubangi is a large-scale project that includes two main components. The first part concerns the rehabilitation and construction of the buildings of the provincial governorate and the Provincial Assembly, as well as the renovation of four emblematic schools in the city of Gemena.
The second part of the project concerns the construction of three bridges, anti-erosion works, as well as the paving of an 11 km road in Gemena. This work will be entrusted to two companies selected by the Central Coordination Office (BCECO), which will have six months to carry it out.
The objective of this modernization program is to give new impetus to the development of the province of Sud-Ubangi, by improving essential infrastructure and promoting access to education. The town of Gemena, in particular, will benefit from the first paved urban arteries, which will contribute to its economic development and to the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants.
Olivier Mondonge stressed the importance of this project for the population of the province of Sud-Ubangi and affirmed that the work should reflect the will of the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi. He also thanked the BCECO for their help in making this program a reality, which had been in the making for several years.
This modernization project is part of President Tshisekedi’s development vision, which aims to improve the living conditions of the Congolese and promote the country’s social and economic progress. The province of Sud-Ubangi is thus called upon to experience a major transformation thanks to this ambitious program.
In conclusion, the launch of the modernization program for the province of Sud-Ubangi in the DRC marks a key stage in the development of the region. The planned work, both in terms of public infrastructure and roads, will help improve the quality of life of residents and stimulate the province’s economic development. This initiative demonstrates the Congolese government’s commitment to investing in social progress and creating conditions conducive to the development of its citizens
