“Kwilu: The Independent National Electoral Commission ready to receive nominations for deputy”

The Independent National Electoral Commission of Kwilu is finally ready to receive and process applications for deputy. Candidates will be able to submit their application from June 25, in one of the seven reception and processing offices that will be established in the province.

In order to select the best candidates, a test was organized for the 77 CENI agents. Of the 56 candidates selected, seven reception and processing offices will be located in the various cities and territories of the region.

The draft law on the distribution of seats, drawn up by the CENI, was promulgated by the Head of State Félix Tshisekedi. This text of law determines the distribution of seats in the light of the results of the revision of the electoral roll whose prior identification and enrollment of voters took place in three operational areas. It allows the CENI to summon the electorate for the national legislative elections of December 2023.

Despite insecurity issues, the CENI announced the registration of Kwamouth voters from June 26 to July 10. On the other hand, the fate of Masisi, Rutshuru and part of Nyiragongo remains uncertain.

The province of Kwilu is therefore actively preparing for the upcoming legislative elections. We can hope for an active participation of the population to elect the best candidates and thus ensure quality representation in the deputation.
