Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi inaugurates the OPDAD market to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development in Kinshasa.

The First Lady of the DRC, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, inaugurated Thursday evening, the OPDAD market at the Academy of Fine Arts. This inauguration also marked the beginning of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OPDAD), which takes place in the Congolese capital.

During this inaugural evening, the vice-president of the organization, the Distinguished Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, accompanied by the Central African First Lady, Brigitte Touadera, members of the OPDAD Secretariat and delegations, visited the stands erected by the state structures, commercial companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and learned about the offers and products presented.

The OPDAD village promoted Congolese knowledge with a large exhibition of local products and services. Stage performances also embellished this inaugural evening. The market will be open to the public throughout the weekend.

OPDAD, an organization whose mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of children, young people and women through advocacy, resource mobilization and strategic partnerships, celebrates its 20th anniversary in Kinshasa. On this occasion, several activities are planned this week before the big meeting on June 17th.

This inauguration is one of the highlights of the week in Kinshasa, which remains the most dynamic African capital in terms of political and social activities. Many economic issues are also present, in particular those related to the development of companies and SMEs in Congo.
