“Congo Wetu loses its renowned editor: tribute to Mbuyi Tshibuabua and hope for the next generation of Congolese journalism”

Congo Wetu, a popular newspaper in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has just lost its publisher Mbuyi Tshibuabua. The funeral of the famous journalist will be held from June 24 to 25 with a vigil at the ELKO space on Avenue Kimiala at the entrance to Limeté Salongo, in Kinshasa.

The family invites relatives and friends of the deceased to gather in front of the mortal remains at the University Clinics of Kinshasa at 9 a.m. and to attend the departure for the N’Sele Bambous cemetery at 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 25. A consolation bath will be organized at the ELKO space in Limeté Salongo at 3 p.m.

While mourning is observed at the residence of the deceased at number 70 av. MONTALI, Mpasa 2/Camp PM district, N’Sele, behind the Church of Latter Day Saints, journalists and press followers are still reeling from the news.
