In an effort to improve the business climate in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Head of State mentioned his concerns about the deterioration of the conditions for creating a business. During the ministerial meeting held on June 16, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi insisted on the worrying situation of the Single Window for Business Creation, which is experiencing a malfunction in its service, characterized by non-compliance with waiting times and the discontinuity of service.
The spokesperson for the Congolese government thus announced that the President of the Republic had asked the Prime Minister to convene the main stakeholders to resolve these difficulties as soon as possible. An evaluation of the one-stop-shop reform will also be carried out to identify avenues likely to optimize the completion of formalities for businesses.
This desire to improve the business climate in the DRC is essential to encourage the installation of investors and the formalization of the activities of economic operators. Efforts in terms of funding and support for agents must be reinforced to guarantee the proper functioning of this essential service.
The creation of a favorable business environment is a key element for the economic development of the country. Significant improvements in this area would also increase investor confidence and attract new economic players.
