The National Electoral Commission (CENI) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is taking a step forward to promote transparency and build citizen confidence in the electoral process. Indeed, the President of the CENI, Denis Kadima Kazadi, inaugurated the House of Elections, a space dedicated to interactions and exchanges with visitors, during a solemn ceremony held in Kinshasa.

Located in the commune of Gombe in Kinshasa, the House of Elections is open to all citizens interested in the electoral process. Its objective is to facilitate exchanges and the sharing of information between the CENI and the public. Denis Kadima stressed the importance of this place as a crossroads of information where interactions take place in mutual respect.

The House of Elections is not limited to being a simple building. Its purpose is to become a communication tool, allowing the CENI to strengthen its relations with stakeholders and provide voters with all the necessary information. In the coming days, it will also welcome representatives of community radios, in order to train them on upcoming activities, the legal framework and innovations relating to the elections. This initiative aims to ensure that voters have adequate information to make informed decisions in the upcoming elections.

The House of Elections is also a symbol of the CENI’s inclusiveness and transparency. Indeed, it is open to all citizens without any particular protocol. Reception agents are on hand to provide useful information and assist visitors in their formalities. The CENI thus wishes to promote informed and enlightened participation by all voters, in particular women, young people, illiterates and people living with disabilities.

The inauguration ceremony of the House of Elections was marked by the presence of the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Damien Mama. He stressed the importance of this space which promotes constructive dialogue between the CENI and the actors involved in the electoral process. He also recalled that access to information plays a crucial role in the success of a transparent and fair electoral process.

In conclusion, the CENI House of Elections is a real tool for transparency and confidence building in the electoral process in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By offering a space for exchanges and sharing, it allows the CENI to interact directly with citizens and provide all the information necessary for informed participation in the next elections.. This initiative demonstrates the CENI’s commitment to ensuring free, fair and transparent elections, placing voters at the heart of the electoral process
