The Mzee Laurent Désiré KABILA Foundation has published a press release denouncing the attacks it suffered in its offices on the night of Thursday 01 to Friday 02 June 2023. The attackers, suspected of being agents of the security services and of A military commando not fully identified, smuggled, illegally and in violation of the laws of the Republic into the offices located in the Commune of Gombe, Boulevard du 30 juin.
The attackers forced and broke the entrance doors of the building, as well as all the doors of the various offices inside and searched the contents of several pieces of furniture. This is the second time that the offices of the Foundation have been victims of such barbaric and criminal acts.
The president of the Foundation, Jaynet Kabila, said that she had officially lodged a complaint with the authorities of the Republic. Unfortunately, no investigation was initiated nearly eleven months after this first incident. The Foundation firmly denounces this recurrence of these criminal acts and condemns the intentional violation of articles 12, 16, 29 31, 34 and 37 of the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Congo relating to the protection of guaranteed rights and the inviolability of homes. . These acts profane the memory of Mzee Laurent Désiré KABILA, Worthy Son of the Country, who devoted his youth and all his life in the long fight from 1961 to 1997 against the dictatorial system to put the Democratic Republic of Congo back on the track of democracy. and sovereignty through the Pardon Revolution, until the supreme sacrifice on January 16, 2001.
