Inter-institutional meeting: President Tshisekedi consults the heads of institutions for the future of the DRC
The President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo gathered, on Monday, the heads of institutions at the city of the African Union to discuss key issues of national life. This consultative meeting saw the participation of Prime Minister Jean Michel Sama Lukonde, the President of the Senate Bahati Lukwebo, the 1st Vice-President of the National Assembly André Mbata, and the representative of the Constitutional Court Kamuleta.
During this meeting, President Tshisekedi largely discussed the security situation in the country, mainly in connection with the state of siege which was declared a week ago. He wished to collect the opinions of the heads of institutions on the measures to be taken after the evaluation round table which was held recently.
Furthermore, the ongoing electoral process was also at the heart of the discussions. The Head of State insisted on the importance of remaining mobilized to meet the expectations of the population, particularly in the east of the country, concerning security issues and the smooth running of the elections.
This inter-institutional meeting testifies to President Tshisekedi’s desire to gather the opinions of the various key players in the country in order to make informed decisions for the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
