Libelous campaign against the CNJF: Clarification on provider payments

Media campaign against the CNJF and its National Director: Clarification on provider payments

The Comité National des Jeux de la Francophonie (CNJF) recently faced a media campaign aimed at discrediting the organization and its National Director. The CNJF would like to provide clarifications on the payment process for service providers and to put an end to the erroneous information circulating.

Isidore Kwandja Ngembo, National Director of the CNJF, wanted to reassure service providers by saying that all those who have signed a contract with the CNJF will be paid. Aware of the concerns aroused by the contradictory articles published, Mr. Kwandja invited the service providers to a meeting in order to take stock of the case.

As part of this meeting, the CNJF discussed with the manager of the Restaurant “Chez Ralph”, one of the service providers concerned. Following these discussions, it emerged that the contractor had not provided meals to the delegations as claimed in the press. His performance would have stopped earlier than expected, and a commission was set up to assess the services actually rendered and determine the appropriate payments.

It is important to underline that the payments of the service providers are not made by the National Director, but by the National Committee of the Games of La Francophonie, once the necessary funds are made available to it by the government. The CNJF deeply regrets that certain service providers have used methods of pressure, by distilling erroneous information in the media to tarnish the image of the Committee which is fully invested in the success of the Games of La Francophonie.

The CNJF affirms that there are no obstacles to make the payments and that all the files are pending to be processed in the next few days, as soon as the remaining funds are available. In addition, the CNJF would like to point out that no contract has been signed with certain journalists who claim to claim payments related to their performance at the Games. Only media that have signed a contract with the CNJF will receive their payment.

The National Committee of the Games of La Francophonie recalls its commitment to respect its obligations towards service providers and ensures that a favorable solution will be found as soon as possible. He would like to remind you that the promotion of the event and the satisfaction of all the players are at the heart of his concerns
