Title: Deputies on parliamentary vacation: assessment of the last session of the 3rd legislature of the 3rd republic
Thursday, June 15, 2023 marked the end of the parliamentary session and the start of the vacation period for national deputies. They will not resume their activities until September 15, the date of the opening of the last session of the 3rd legislature of the 3rd Republic.
Christophe Mboso N’Kodia Pwanga, the President of the National Assembly asked the deputies to take advantage of this period to return to their respective bases and briefly present the results of this legislature. He also urged elected officials to file their candidacy files with a view to renewing the confidence of voters in the next legislative elections.
The deputies carried out their constitutional missions to legislate and control, with dignity and responsibility. They have thus earned the trust of the Congolese people. It is therefore important for them to reflect on their achievements in order to better present them to voters during the next election campaign.
The parliamentary recess period is therefore a time for Members to take stock of their achievements and reflect on future actions. In this way, they will be better able to earn the trust of their constituents.
