Title: State-of-the-art CENI warehouse in Kinshasa ready to accommodate DRC election logistics
Introduction :
The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is actively preparing for the upcoming elections. With this in mind, a state-of-the-art warehouse was built in Kinshasa, specially designed to store electoral logistics. CENI President Denis Kadima Kazadi visited the site to inspect the work and was pleased with the progress and quality of the warehouse. In this article, we will present the details of this new storage space which will play an essential role in the smooth running of the elections in the DRC.
The state-of-the-art warehouse: an infrastructure adapted to electoral needs
The warehouse, located in the commune of Limete in Kinshasa, was designed according to international standards to accommodate all types of electoral material intended for the whole country. With a storage capacity of 5,000 m^3, the warehouse includes two buildings already constructed, and also has a fire safety system to protect electoral equipment.
In addition to the storage spaces, the warehouse will also include a training room, offices, a space dedicated to conferences, a garage, accommodation for CENI staff on mission in Kinshasa, as well as a printing press. This comprehensive infrastructure will enable the CENI to effectively organize and manage electoral operations throughout the country.
An essential acquisition for the CENI
This acquisition represents a first for the CENI since its creation. Previously, the organization depended on various scattered storage spaces, which made logistics more complex. Thanks to this ultramodern warehouse, the CENI will be able to centralize all of its electoral equipment and thus facilitate their distribution across the country.
The CENI President’s inspection visit was conclusive, stating that the work carried out was of high quality. The inauguration of the warehouse is expected in a few weeks, and once operational, it will play a key role in the preparation and holding of elections in the DRC.
Conclusion :
The construction of the state-of-the-art CENI warehouse in Kinshasa is a major step forward in the organization of elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This storage structure meets international standards and will allow the CENI to centralize its electoral equipment, thus ensuring more efficient logistics and facilitating the preparation of elections throughout the country
