ISTM Tshikapa: a third cycle to prepare medical succession

The Higher Institute of Medical Techniques of Tshikapa, in partnership with the ISTM of Kinshasa, recently received authorization from the Minister of Health to organize eight courses in doctoral training. This initiative aims to prepare the next generation of academics, by offering new training in the medical field.

The doctoral training courses planned are as follows: nursing sciences, medical biology, bio-statistics, management of health institutions, food sciences, nutrition-dietetics, medical imaging, motricity and rehabilitation sciences, midwives.

The vice-governor of the province of Kasaï, Gaston Nkole Tshimuanga, launched on June 14, 2023 in the hill of Kelé, the third doctoral cycle in the medical field. He encourages candidates wishing to undertake these studies to register and promises support from the provincial government.

This initiative by ISTM/Tshikapa to offer a third cycle of the national school in the medical field is a first in the province of Kasaï. It will allow students to have quality training without having to travel far from home. In addition, it contributes to the improvement of the health system in the region, by training competent and well-trained doctors.
