“SADC: Félix Tshisekedi supports industrialization and calls for economic diversification in his region”

In the heart of Southern Africa, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is mobilizing to promote industrialization in the region. During the recent 43rd SADC Summit, held in Luanda, Angola, Congolese President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi expressed his support for this initiative and pleaded for the industrialization of the member countries of the organization. .

In his speech, the Congolese Head of State stressed the importance of industrialization to support the region and diversify economies. He highlighted the efforts made by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the field of industrialization, by implementing SADC programs aimed at improving market integration and breaking away from dependence on raw products.

President Tshisekedi also welcomed the theme proposed by incoming SADC Chairperson Angola for the upcoming summit: “Human and Financial Capital: Key Drivers for Sustainable Industrialization in the SADC Region.” He stressed the importance of developing and mobilizing human and financial capital to continue pushing the industrialization agenda in the region.

This summit was also an opportunity for Félix Tshisekedi to pass the torch of SADC presidency to his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço. This transfer of responsibilities demonstrates the continued commitment of SADC countries to work together to promote industrialization and drive inclusive and resilient economic growth in the region.

Industrialization is a major challenge for many African countries, which seek to create jobs, develop their economies and reduce their dependence on raw materials. By promoting agri-food processing, the development of minerals and the development of value chains, SADC hopes to strengthen its economic growth and improve the living conditions of its population.

In conclusion, industrialization remains a priority for SADC and its member countries. The support of Congolese President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi and the theme chosen for the next summit testify to the region’s commitment to promoting this objective. By developing human and financial capital, fostering market integration and diversifying economies, SADC aims to build a more prosperous and resilient future for its citizens
