Welcome to Fatshimetr.ie, today we are going to talk about the giraffe, a unique and iconic animal of the African savannah. Do you know the giraffe, the animal recognizable by its long neck, and able to make decisions thanks to mathematics?
We are in Niger, more precisely in the Kouré reserve, where more than 600 giraffes of the subspecies Giraffa camelopardalis peralta lead a peaceful life under the constant supervision of the Rangers. Do you know that the giraffe, which reaches up to 6 meters in height, has brown spots with random outlines on its fair skin? These patterns serve as camouflage and allow it to regulate its temperature through blood vessels that surround them. Another particularity of the giraffe: its tongue, which can reach up to 50 centimeters, is blue, and according to some scientists, this color could protect it against UV rays.
