Lower prices for Robusta and Arabica coffee exported from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) exports different varieties of coffee, including Robusta and Arabica. According to the latest data from the National Mercurial Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, these two varieties of coffee should register a slight drop in price on international markets.
The kilogram of Robusta coffee is thus expected to trade at 2.53 USD, against 2.61 USD the previous week. Similarly, Arabica coffee is expected to drop from $2.76 to $2.67 per kilogram. This price drop may be good news for international buyers of Congolese coffee, who will be able to benefit from more attractive prices.
However, it is important to note that this drop in prices only concerns coffee, and that the other agricultural products and forestry menus exported from the DRC, such as cocoa, rubber, papain or even cinchona bark, remained stable in international markets.
This situation can be explained by various factors, such as supply and demand on world markets, climatic conditions affecting coffee production, or the trade policies of importing countries.
It is therefore essential for the actors of the coffee sector in the DRC to closely follow the evolution of the international markets and to adapt their strategies accordingly. The quality of Congolese coffee and its potential on the world market remain major assets, but it is also important to take into account competition and price fluctuations.
In conclusion, the drop in prices of Robusta and Arabica coffee exported from the DRC can be seen as an opportunity for international buyers, but requires increased vigilance on the part of Congolese producers and exporters
