Title: The Prime Minister on a mission to improve road infrastructure
The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, is currently on mission in Haut-Katanga. He traveled to the region to assess the state of the national road number 5 (RN5), which connects Kasenga to the other villages in the region.
Accompanied by members of his government, including the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure and Public Works Alexie Gisaro and that of Territorial Development Guy Loando Mboyo, the Prime Minister began his mission with a visit to the village of Malambwe, where he was warmly welcomed.
In a speech in Swahili, the Prime Minister thanked the inhabitants of Malambwe for their welcome and paid tribute to the President of the Republic for having placed their trust in him at the head of the Government. He also mentioned the major problems facing the village and reassured the inhabitants of his government’s determination to implement projects to address their concerns.
The Prime Minister then went to the village of Minga, where he communicated with the inhabitants of Minga and his native village, Lutandula. He encouraged the villagers to all line up behind President Félix Tshisekedi for the materialization of the development projects initiated in the territory of Kasenga.
Before continuing on his way to Kasenga, the Prime Minister stopped at the village of Kibundu, in the Sapwe group, to visit a health center built as part of the local development program for 145 territories. The Prime Minister said he was impressed by the speed of the work, carried out in just six months, and welcomed the government’s initiative in terms of local development.
This mission of the Prime Minister in the region testifies to the commitment of his government to improve the road infrastructures of the DRC, in order to promote the economic and social development of the region.
