This period is also marked by economic challenges and concerns about security in certain regions of the country. Nevertheless, the country is also driven by positive initiatives, notably announcing the reintroduction of white rhinos in the Garamba National Park, thanks to the collaboration with the company Barrick Gold Corporation.

In addition, European election observers are on mission in the DRC, to try to assess the security conditions in which the elections will take place. Finally, the collaboration with mining multinationals is presented as an opportunity to fight against the illegal exploitation of mines in the DRC, a major challenge for the country which seeks to modernize its population with in particular the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the issuance of national identity cards.
