“Searches in the DRC: the Katumbi camp points the finger at President Tshisekedi”

The DRC is in the headlines with the searches carried out in some political personalities. The Katumbi camp confirms that nothing has been found. However, the mother of Salomon Idi Kalonda is searched, and this has aroused the reaction of Moïse Moni Della, who denounces a relentlessness against his brother, and points the finger directly at President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

The newspaper infosc.cd reports a statement by Moni Della: “It is as if the President of the Republic had a personal problem against Salomon Kalonda. It is a hatred that does not say its name. Why were the family residences of M23 leaders like Ngoma, Runiga, and others never searched? We traumatize a poor 85-year-old woman, he laments. Humanly, this is beyond all understanding. I will be unable to do so even in power.”

It should be noted that before this search, that of Salomon Kalonda and Moïse Katumbi had been carried out in Kinshasa and Lubumbashi. The searches resulted in an absence of convincing discoveries according to the Katumbi camp.

If the reasons for these searches are still unclear, the Congolese government seems to be carrying out a vast operation against the opposition. Indeed, Salomon Idi Kalonda is accused of being in collusion with Kigali in order to “overthrow the current regime in the DRC by all means and to install a Katangese national there”.

In any case, this search operation arouses protest reactions from many opposition activists, and augurs new political tensions in the DRC.
