The succession winds in Congo Brazzaville blow as hard as the mistral in northern France. The subject remains topical and the controversy continues to grow. The fratricidal struggle between biological and heart children for the succession of Raïs continues to shake the North.
However, the wind ended up touching the southwest of the country. The Kouilou department is now the new target of the succession. Vile politicians and notables are increasingly concerned about this issue. They created a small group called the “little conspirator” to reflect on the subject. The latter, with the blessing of the first lady, pushes the prime minister to develop ambitions of power and to dream of greatness.
Collinet Makosso, the Prime Minister, does not hide his ambitions. He wants at all costs to impose his candidacy to succeed Sassou Nguesso. To achieve this, he multiplies the maneuvers, without being supported by all the members of the government.
Some people have revealed that the Prime Minister was appointed by Sassou with the help of his caciques friends from the north for his legendary docility recognized by all. But this same docility gave way to new ambitions, the desire to taste power.
While the north fights for the succession, Collinet Makosso prepares the ground to achieve his ultimate goal: to seize power. He canceled the regulatory text that favored house executives for appointment to high state offices, to pass a regulation that allows executives from all walks of life to be appointed anywhere in administrative structures.
In addition, he would have the lead in the potash mining organization, which is a booming economic sector. He thus developed a strategy to monopolize it. Potash is one of the most fundamental supports of agricultural production, essential to agriculture.
However, Collinet Makosso is aware of the risks he takes by alienating Sassou and the caciques of the North. And the latter are not ready to let their ambitions be thwarted. So, the question that arises remains the same, will he manage to sow discord in the Raïs clan to finally impose himself as the successor?
The answer to this question remains obscure. However, it is clear that the succession of Sassou Nguesso is a subject of growing concern to the Congolese and that the population is aware of the risks of political conflict that this may cause.
