“The IX Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa: The DRC is preparing for a grandiose event!”

Preparations for the ninth Francophonie Games to be held in Kinshasa from July 28 to August 6, 2023 are well underway, according to the Director of the International Committee of the Francophonie Games (CIJF), Zeina Mina, who expressed her satisfaction for the progress of the work after an inspection visit with the Congolese Minister of Infrastructure, Alexis Gisaro. The country has seen big, it is perhaps because of that that we were a little late. This is beyond the requirements of the OIF (International Organization of La Francophonie). Table tennis side, judo, it is really very great qualities and it is at the height of the greatness of the DRC, “said Zeina Mina.

Work is progressing well and progress has reached around 80%, testifying to the country’s determination to make these games a major event in the French-speaking world. Construction companies are hard at work making these games a success. Alexis Gisaro, the Congolese Minister of Infrastructure, is very confident about the timely completion of all works.

The twin gymnasium and the Martyrs’ stadium now have seats in the colors of the national flag and a hardwood floor cut into strips and laid on a basement. On the adjoining ground of the Martyrs stadium, the bleachers are already in place and the natural grass is sprouting in good condition. At the Tâta Raphaël stadium site, ten buildings have already been erected out of fifteen, where there will be restaurants, accreditation room and accommodation. The Judo and freestyle room is just undergoing some finishing touches.

After two postponements following Canada’s withdrawal and the Covid-19 pandemic, the IX Games of La Francophonie are eagerly awaited. The sites chosen for the event reflect the desire of the DRC to make this event a success of the event both nationally and internationally. The next few days should make it possible to specify the progress of the work and confirm the holding of these games.
