“Successful political tour in Europe: Augustin Kabuya, Secretary General of Udps/Tshisekedi and Vice-President of the Socialist International, strengthens ties with Udps allies”

The Secretary General of Udps/Tshisekedi and Vice-President of the Socialist International, Augustin Kabuya, made a political tour in the Paris-Brussels axis in May 2023. During this mission, he had the opportunity to meet different delegations and discuss the political situation of the Udps.

Augustin Kabuya continued his mission in Paris where he met with members of the French federation. The discussions focused on the activities of the federation, the preparations for the presidential election, the financial and material means for the federation. He also visited Alexandre Ngyekama, federal president hospitalized at the Gonesse Hospital Center in the Ile de France region.

Back in Brussels, Augustin Kabuya received in audience several individuals and especially members of the federations of the Netherlands and Germany, who made the trip to the European capital to meet the day-to-day manager of the party in power.

On Tuesday May 23, 2023, he welcomed Ms. Benedicta Lasi, Secretary General of the Socialist International, who came from Germany to discuss with the Spd party. They discussed the perspectives of the Socialist International, and then met Mr. Philippe Close, 1st Vice-President of the Belgian Socialist Party and Mayor of Brussels. This meeting organized by Mrs. Lydia Mutyebele made it possible to discuss the situation of relations between the Udps and the Belgian Socialist Party but also on the activities of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi.

Finally, on Thursday May 25, 2023, Augustin Kabuya met the Udps community of Belgium in the Nh Brussels Carrefour room, rue du Marché aux Herbes 110, 1000 Brussels. This meeting brought together hundreds of combatants, all of whom came to encourage and thank Augustin Kabuya in the accomplishment of his tasks.

This political tour was rich in constructive meetings and fruitful exchanges for the Udps party. It also allowed Augustin Kabuya to strengthen relations with Udps allies in Europe, and to take into account the concerns of activists in the diaspora.
