“ENAFEP postponement in 7 educational provinces in the DRC: the reasons of the Ministry of EPST”

The National Primary School Leaving Examination (ENAFEP) should be held on June 1 throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo, but in 7 educational provinces, it is postponed to Monday June 12 and Tuesday June 13, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of EPST. This is the case of the educational provinces of Sankuru 1 in Lodja, Sankuru 2 in Lusambo, Tshuapa 1 and 2, Haute-Uele 1 and 2 and Bas-Uele precisely in Buta.

The press release from the ministry specifies that the postponement of these tests is justified by the late arrival of the trunks of items at the various scheduled drop-off points, despite the measures taken to store the trunks in time with the carrier. It is therefore a setback beyond the control of the EPST.

The Minister of EPST, Tony Mwaba, is currently staying in Kisangani, in the province of Tshopo, where he will launch ENAFEP on Thursday. This school year, the number of students expected at ENAFEP is 2,119,100 candidates, including 1,020,448 girls, distributed in 8,232 examination centers, as well as 2 centers outside the borders, more precisely in Luanda and Cabinda in the Republic of Angola.

It is important to emphasize that each school year, the EPST sector organizes certification tests such as the State Examination, the ENAFEP and the National Test for Selection and Educational and Professional Orientation (TENASOSP) intended for finalists in basic education (8th year).

Even with this setback, the Ministry of EPST is making every effort to pass this exam, which is crucial for the continuation of the students’ studies.
